The Hangzhou Shangri-La Hotel (Hangzhou xianggelila fandian) is located on the northwest bank of the West Lake. The hotel is made up of two buildings, from the east building there are great views over the beautiful West Lake, from the west there are views of lush foliage and the flowering shrubs of the hotel gardens.

The hotel has 382 spacious guestrooms and suites. The hotel restaurant offers a variety of exotic Chinese and western dishes. In the Peppino Restaurant there is gorgeously authentic Italian food, and the Hotel do a lovely (and very reasonable) buffet at the weekends which is particularly pleasant in the summer when the chefs whip up a barbecue in the gardens.
